  3.                         Let's make music in 3DKit 2
  4.                         ---------------------------

  6. The following datafiles belong to this explanation and they are
  7. suitable for Amiga and Atari:
  8.  
  9.                       elpiano.3wd   - datafile
  10.                       piano.iff     - border
  11.                       piano.3sm     - soundbank
  12.  
  13. Load elpiano.3wd in Kit 2. Through the File Menu click on sound -
  14. load samples: piano.3sm. Click on the eye icon. Press ESC to let
  15. the border appear. You can make music in two ways:
  16.  
  17. 1. Click with the right mousebutton on the keys of the Keyboard on
  18.    your screen. The central C key is the fourth white key from the
  19.    left; or
  20.  
  21. 2. Use the following keys on your computer keyboard:
  22.  
  23.     2 3 4 6 7 9 0     -  black keys
  24.  
  25.     q w e r t y u i o p [ ] white keys from central C
  26.  
  27.     z x v     white keys one octave lower.
  28.  
  29. Each time you press a key or click a key, it will change colour, so
  30. you can see which key you are using.
  31.  
  32. Each piano key is attached to a procedure to produce the sound, the
  33. colour change and the appearance of a brushanim. I used 2 cubes for
  34. each piano key, so when you click on a key, that one disappears, and
  35. the one underneath appears. I used the TOGVIS command to achieve this.
  36. This command enables you to make an object invisible when it is
  37. visible and vice-versa.

  39. Click on the Icons in the border to hear some tunes made with this
  40. electric piano. You will find the routines in Procedures 25 to 28.
